'Sup, Dudes!?
Okaaaay…I think Anna needed that…
I am not going to touch that topic, except to say that Anna probably is right on a technical level, because a blu-ray disc or a DVD are digital in the sense that the video (or whatever else, 'cause DVD stands for Digital Versatile Disc) on them is a digital file that just happens to be imprisoned upon the plane of an optical disc. That's different from something like VHS, which is a collection of magnetic patterns that can transform into video and sound without first being turned into 1's and 0's.
Where I think Anna's got her head up her ass is the obsession with things being purely aNaLoG. (I guess it's her name, though, so there's that…) I mean, the advantage of a physical medium, in my opinion isn't so much the physical aspect (because optical discs are horrible and fragile and suck), but the idea that you own that copy in some way. You're not just pouring endless cash into the pockets of a service for the privilege to watch a show until they randomly decide to take it down. Still, something better than the reflective discs needs to be worked out…
Until that gets resolved, you should invest in media that is both physical and analog. That's right! You should buy my book. Volume 2 is coming soon, and in the meantime, why not refresh your memory of the adventures that came before? (Just don't think about the fact you could read that stuff online…I mean, you wouldn't get to read the bonus manga that way!)
That's all I have to say. Buy my book. Anna was totally within her rights to deck that guy. Beanies aren't that bad, but tuques are terrible. (I bet that guy calls it a tuque…he looked Canadian…) Brian is a dingus.
